Airflow and Pressure Unit Conversion

Airflow Unit Conversion

There are several units of airflow depending on systems of measurement.

Airflow is usually measured in Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM). However, in countries where the metric system has been used, m3/min or m3/h should be commonly used units. By using the below conversion chart, the unit of airflow can be converted to a required one.

Air Flow

1 CFM = 0.0283 m3 / min (CMM) 1 CFM=1.699 m3 / hr
1 m3 / min = 35.31 CFM 1 m3 / min = 60 m3 / hr
1 m3 / min = 16.67 Liter / sec 1 Liter / sec = 0.06 m3 /min
1 m3 / hr = 0.589 CFM m3 / hr = 0.0167 m3 / min

CFM m3 / min(CMM) m3 / hr
1 0.0283 1.699
35.31 1 60
0.589 0.0167 1

Static pressure unit conversion table

The SI unit for measuring pressure is the pascal (Pa) which is encouraged to use by national standard organizations. On the other hand, the manometric pressure units: InchH2O, mmH2O are commonly used in the fan industry. Each manometric pressure unit can be converted to others by using the below table.

Static Pressure

1 Pa = 0.102 mmH2O 1 Pa = 0.004 inchH2O
1 mmH2O = 0.0394 inchH2O 1 mmH2O= 9.81 Pa
1 inchH2O = 249 Pa 1 inchH 2O = 25.4 mmH2O

Inch  H2O mmH2O Pa
1 25.4 249
0.0394 1 9.81
0.004 0.102 1
